Palestinian State, Earthquakes and
National Gay Pride Day - Bill Koenig

June 19, 2002

Two past Middle East statements by the Bush Administration and one planned for yesterday or today (that was postponed yesterday due to the large-scale suicide bombing in Jerusalem), were all on the same days that earthquakes occurred in the United States. The first was a 5.1 earthquake in the East on April 20; the second was 5.0 on May 13 in the West; and yesterday’s 5.0 earthquake was in the Midwest. (Matthew 24:7 [KJV] “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”)

Below are details of the April 20, May 13, and June 18, 2002, Bush Middle East statements (the June 18 or June 19 statement was postponed due to two Jerusalem bombings) and corresponding same-day earthquakes in the past 60 days.

April 20 - Bush Terrorism Report and Middle East Radio Address – Rare 5.1 Earthquake In Northeast strikes 48 miles from President Bush’s Monday Earth Day Speech Location

On Saturday, April 20, as President Bush’s weekend radio address was about to be aired nationwide concerning the U.S. battle on terrorism and his vision of a solution for the Israeli-Palestinian situation, a rare, 5.1-magnitude earthquake was felt from Buffalo, New York, to Boston, Massachusetts, and Baltimore, Maryland. Interestingly, the epicenter was 48 miles from Saranac Lake, where President Bush delivered his Earth Day message on Monday, April 22, at 12:30 PM. (This was the largest earthquake in Northeast United States in the 75 years.) [Ed. Note: The address also came on the heals of U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft's FBI terrorism warning to 1200 Northeastern banks that spread from Virginia to Maine.]

May 13 – Bush Supports Palestinian State – 5.0 Earthquake on West Coast – Two U.S. Terror Warnings

On Monday, May 13, the Bush Administration reconfirms their support of a Palestinian state after a Sunday vote by Israel’s Likud party to reject a Palestinian state. A 5.0 earthquake hits SF Bay Area that evening.

June 18 – Bush Middle East Plan Imminent – Jerusalem Homicide Bombing - Rare 5.0 Earthquake in Midwest – Bush Address Postponed

President Bush was expected to give his Middle East plan yesterday or today. According to the Jerusalem Post, the Jerusalem homicide bombing (and due to today’s bombing in the French Hill neighborhood in North Jerusalem) postponed his plan now until this weekend, early next week or later, the plan was to make a nationally televised Middle East address. Hours after yesterday’s major homicide bombing in Jerusalem the US experienced a rare 5.0 earthquake in the Mid West, which was felt in the Southern U.S. [Note: The strongest earthquake in the region in the last 100 years happened on Nov. 9, 1968. Centered in south-central Illinois, it had a magnitude of 5.4 and was felt in 23 states.]

Out of the Closet: This Gay Pride Day, Homosexuals Have Something to Cheer About (ABC News)

John McTernan in his commentary, “Seismologist and Sin,“ showed us three major same-day 1990’s earthquakes and the corresponding sin event; the beginning of a U.S. Supreme Court abortion case, the eventual decision of that case and a National Gay Pride Day. The fourth major west coast earthquake occurred within 48 hours of the California Governor’s declaration that his state would be a model for homosexual rights for the rest of the country.

Between April, 1992, and October, 1999, Southern California experienced four of the most powerful earthquakes in the last century. The earthquakes were all within a very close distance to each other. The earthquakes were: Joshua Tree, 6.1, April 23, 1992 (U.S. Supreme Court begins hearing the Planned Parenthood v Casey case); Landers, 7.6, June 28, 1992; Big Bear, 6.5, June 28, 1992 (The last Sunday in June is usually National Gay Pride Day. In 1992, it fell on June 28. The next day, June 29, the Supreme Court issued the ruling for the Planned Parenthood v Casey case. The Court failed to use the Casey case to overturn Roe v Wade. The Court upheld that abortion was legal. June 28 was a huge homosexual event, and June 29 was a huge pro-abortion victory); and Hector Mine, 7.1, October 16, 1999 (On October 14 California Governor Grey Davis made a speech stating that California was going to be a model for homosexual rights for the rest of the country).

Final Note: Coming this weekend there is a potential major Middle East address by President Bush, converging with the largest National Gay Pride Day in U.S. history.

Bush Supports Creation Of Palestine

http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-1731701,00.html

Monday May 13, 2002 4:30 PM

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush held fast Monday to his support of a Palestinian state, possibly foreshadowing a sharp dispute with Israel and its dominant Likud party.

The hard-line coalition voted Sunday in favor of a resolution never to allow the creation of a Palestinian state, defying Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who had said he could support statehood under certain limited conditions. ``The president continues to believe that the best route to peace is through the creation of the state of Palestine and side-by-side security with Israel,'' White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said in response to Likud's decision.

GILROY, California (CNN) -- A moderate earthquake -- followed by five aftershocks -- shook the San Francisco Bay area Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's National Earthquake Information Center. The 5.2 magnitude quake occurred at 10 p.m. (1 a.m. EDT) and was centered three miles south-southwest of Gilroy, which is about 80 miles southeast of San Francisco.

The earthquake rattled fans at two nationally-televised sporting events: A National Hockey League playoff match between Colorado and San Jose, and a National League baseball game between Atlanta and San Francisco, gaining mention on both broadcasts. Play was not interrupted in either contest.

5.1 Quake Rattles U.S. Northeast

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/020420/5/lw92.html

Saturday April 20

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A small earthquake (news - web sites) struck the northeastern United States on Saturday morning, rattling homes, shaking furniture and waking people from New York to New Hampshire, authorities said. The United States Geological Survey said a moderate earthquake occurred about 15 miles southwest of Plattsburgh, New York, in the northeastern part of the state at 6:50 a.m. and had a preliminary magnitude of 5.1.

The USGS (news - web sites) said the earthquake, which was at a depth of 3 miles, was felt from Buffalo, New York, to Boston, Massachusetts and Baltimore, Maryland, but there were no initial reports of serious damage or casualties.

An earthquake of magnitude 5 can be powerful enough to cause heavy damage in a populated area, depending on its depth.

Residents in New York City reported feeling tremors and hearing furniture rattle, and said they lasted between 15 and 30 seconds.

Radio Address by the President to the Nation

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/04/20020420.html

April 20, 2002

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. This week Secretary of State Colin Powell returned from the Middle East and reported on his intensive and productive meetings.

In this region, we are confronting hatred that is centuries old, and disputes that have lingered for decades. Yet, America has a vision for peace, and by calling all the leaders of the Middle East to their responsibilities, Secretary Powell made progress toward peace.

To defuse the current crisis the Palestinian Authority must act on its words of condemnation against terror. Israel must continue its withdrawals. All Arab nations must confront terror in their own region. All parties must stop funding or inciting terror, and must state clearly that a murderer is not a martyr; he or she is just a murderer.

All parties must realize that the only long-term solution is for two states -- Israel and Palestine -- to live side by side in security and peace. This will require hard choices and real leadership by Israelis and Palestinians, and their Arab neighbors.

June 18, 2002

US President George W. Bush has apparently decided to postpone his planned Middle East policy speech due to Tuesday's terror attack, a diplomatic source says.

The statement, expected to have been made today or tomorrow, will likely not be made until the weekend or next week, the source adds. The delay will give Bush a chance to compile a tougher statement, says the source.

According to media reports, Bush has been expected to outline a process for granting Palestinians interim statehood.

5.0 earthquake hits parts of Midwest, South; no immediate reports of damage

EVANSVILLE, Indiana - A moderate earthquake ( news - web sites) rattled church bells and nerves Tuesday in portions of the Midwest and South, but authorities had no immediate reports of damage.

The quake, which struck at 1737 GMT, registered a magnitude of 5.0, said John Bellini with the U.S. Geological Survey ( news - web sites) in Golden, Colorado.

The epicenter was 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of Evansville, Indiana, near the small town of Darmstadt.

"Initially, it was this thunderous noise, and then the actual vibration," said Vicki Stuffle, an employee of Old National Bank in Darmstadt. "We actually saw the building moving."

The quake was felt in Indiana as far north as South Bend, about 250 miles (402 kilometers) away. It also was felt in Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia.

The strongest earthquake in the region in the last 100 years happened on Nov. 9, 1968. Centered in south-central Illinois, it had a magnitude of 5.4 and was felt in 23 states.

Moderate quake shakes Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky

http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/06/18/midwest.earthquake/index.html

EVANSVILLE, Indiana (CNN) -- A pair of earthquakes shook southern Indiana, southern Illinois and northwest Kentucky Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

According to preliminary information, a magnitude 5.0 quake was centered about nine miles northwest of Evansville, while a 4.4 quake was centered 90 miles to the southwest, about three miles north of Paducah, Kentucky, and one mile south of Brookport, Illinois, under the Ohio River that flows between the two, the geological service said. Both quakes occurred at 12:37 p.m. CDT, it said.

The New Madrid system caused four catastrophic earthquakes -- estimated at magnitude 7.0 or greater -- in the Midwest in the years 1811 and 1812, and quakes of over 6.0 in 1843 and 1895. Seven other tremors of 5.0 or beyond have happened in the fault system since then.

The New Madrid system straddles the Mississippi River, with faults in northeast Arkansas, through southeast Missouri, western Tennessee, western Kentucky and into southern Illinois.
