Indonesia quits issuing visas to Israelis
The Jerusalem Post Staff Jun. 13, 2002
Indonesian authorities have quit issuing visas to Israeli businesspeople, the Itim news agency reports Thursday.
The permits have not been provided since mid-April. In a statement, the Indonesian government said that the visas "would not be issued until further notice," to Israelis.
Indonesia, a Muslim country, doesn't have diplomatic ties with Israel but businessmen and women have been able to travel there in recent years.
Vacationers have also visited the Pacific island nation, although Israel recently issued travel warnings due to many anti-Israeli demonstrations and other violence reported there lately.
