Happy Memorial Day!

Today is a day to reflect on the past. To remember that our freedom was not free but bought with the blood of men and women from the beginning of our Country. Too often we take for granted our military. We see it as a job and yes it is a job, but it is a job of sacrifice not only for the servicemen and women but their families. May God bring a special blessing to every one of them today and their families.

Salvation too is taken for granted. It too was bought with a blood sacrifice. Once we are saved it is easy to become so “religious” that we forget what Jesus did to buy our salvation with His precious blood. We begin to look at ourselves with rose colored glasses and feel because we are serving God, that we have someone arrived. That God is so blessed to have us on His team. When we sin and yes Christians still sin, we look on our sin as “little mistakes”. We downplay our own sins and look down on others who sin. We should be more thankful for our gift of salvation and realize when we sin it is a sin and ask God for forgiveness and not try to sugar coat it as “little mistake”. May we begin to be thankful and appreciative children of our Lord and Savior.

God bless you on this Memorial Day. I hope you have something nice plan today. We will not be able to be with family, but we are driving to an Island that we haven’t been before. We are going to have a picnic in the park and feed the ducks. May God be with us all today and give us a fun safe day.
