Hello Linda,

If the body we have now is not resurrected but another body takes its place it would be a new creation and not a resurrection. I believe the same body we have now will be resurrected, but will be changed like unto Jesus body. It will be a body fitted for a sinless eternity.

I think we will know each other in heaven. I heard it said we would all see our entire life and everyone’s life unfold when the books are opened and we are judged according to our works. Might be some red faces with all this knowledge!!

I think that we will know each other and we will know them... the patriarchs, the apostles, everyone who has touched our lives even the ones that did that we did not see or realize. I think that we will see ourselves too as we our- our God begotten selves the new creature. I think we look at Jesus ressurected and we see that the nail prints were there..... but it will not be so with us because our bodies will return to dust.... they have sin, I believe that the spiritual body is that body which will be redeemed from the grave when it is free this earthly body. I think that somehow it is with us now. Jesus' flesh and bones came from the grave because Jesus' flesh and bones were free of sin. Ours are sown in corruption and we are raised in incorruption. So the recongizing of each other will be in the knowing of the inner man in each other. Do you know what I mean? It wont be because you have seen me that you will know me... it will be because you have known me as I am... the inner man and that is what we can only now see in part...see through the glass darkly.....

Amen to all that, bloodbought...while listening to Christian CD behind me and reading your words, tears came to my eyes for the Lord...I worship Him, for what He's done for me, redeemed and set me free, and because, just because, He's God.

May the LORD God of Israel bless us all on this BBS, I am BORN AGAIN by the [Cross] of Yahshua-Jesus who was born in Bethelhem of Judah, as Micah 5:2 predicted ("....just fishin'...")

That is very interesting BORN AGAIN. When faith gives way to sight and we receive that return to earth body, it will be more awesome than we could ever imagine.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

For those of us who are ready, the glory will be much greater than the best moment we ever experienced in this life and it will never end.

The Lord does many things that we don’t understand, but the time is coming when we will know the wisdom of it all.

John 13:6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

I think we will have a glorified body, not natural anymore, but spiritual, a body like Jesus resurrected with and came back down to earth with after Jesus first had to say to Mary:

John 20
16Jesus said to her, Mary. She turned around, and said to him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

17Jesus said to her, Do not touch me; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

By that same evening Jesus had returned to earth from His Father, and now Jesus could say to Thomas, "Touch Me and see that I is Me"

John 20
18Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things to her.

19Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be to you.

20And when he had so said, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad, when they saw the Lord.

John 20:26
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.

John 20:27
Then said he to Thomas, Reach here your finger, and look at my hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but be believing.

That’s the kind of body and mind we will have, the returned-to-earth kind of body.

1 Corinthians 15:46
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

God bless, [Cross] BORN AGAIN

BORN AGAIN said, “Presumably, we will have "the mind of Jesus."

As man Jesus didn’t know everything, but as God He knew everything and could read peoples thoughts. So when it says in 1 John 3:2 “we shall be like him,” does it mean we shall be like Him in His human nature, or we shall be like Him in His Divine nature?

By the following scripture looks like we will be able to recognize Moses, Elijah and the rest -
Mark 9:2-4 Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John to the top of a mountain. No one else was there. As the men watched, Jesus' appearance changed, and his clothing became dazzling white, far whiter than any earthly process could ever make it. Then Elijah and Moses appeared and began talking with Jesus.

Here is another scripture worth looking at -

Matthew 22:23-32 That same day some Sadducees stepped forward--a group of Jews who say there is no resurrection after death. They posed this question: "Teacher, Moses said, `If a man dies without children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will be the brother's heir.'Well, there were seven brothers. The oldest married and then died without children, so the second brother married the widow.

This brother also died without children, and the wife was married to the next brother, and so on until she had been the wife of each of them.

And then she also died. So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For she was the wife of all seven of them!"
Jesus replied, "Your problem is that you don't know the Scriptures, and you don't know the power of God. For when the dead rise, they won't be married. They will be like the angels in heaven.

But now, as to whether there will be a resurrection of the dead--haven't you ever read about this in the Scriptures? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said,`I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' So he is the God of the living, not the dead."

I guess that answers your question Bloodbought -
"Does it mean we shall be like Him in His human nature, or we shall be like Him in His Divine nature?"

Looks like we will be like Him in His Divine nature.

Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Rev 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.

These verses tell us that these tribulation saints know where they are, who they are, what has happened to them, and they know time, (rest little season)
So from that, I believe we will know what we know now.... only more, and better.

I have heard it said that the memory of the past in the physical body will be erased.

Otherwise, we would be grieving for the cares and burdens of the world. Still, it would be nice to know each other up there.

I cannot imagine the reunion that we will experience as we are rejoined with those who have gone before us [clap2]

"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” (Rev. 21:2 ). “The heavens declare the glory of the Lord, the skies proclaim the work of His hands” (Ps. 19:1).

Revelation 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Heaven is almost indescribable. It is very hard to imagine having no pain, no fear, no worry, no financial strain, no jealousy, no temptation, or no war.

In the moment when the believer is transformed from physical life to eternal life, all of life’s burden will melt away. Heaven is uncontainable joy, unending peace, love, beauty, worship, and safety.

But, the biggest prize is that the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit will be with us for all eternity.

The alternative to Heaven is exactly opposite to all that is described above. The anguish of eternal suffering and to be eternally out of the presence of God is terrifying.

I still cannot understand why people don’t get their lives right with God before it is too late. Sure, there are those who truly don’t believe, and I pity them. But, there are also those who ride the fence, knowing that someday they will have to choose. They believe that the Bible is true, but they choose to hold on to the world just a little longer. Friends, don’t wait too long. Jesus is coming soon!

Presumably, we will have "the mind of Jesus" and also:

Isaiah 65:24
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

God bless, [Cross] BORN AGAIN

Will we know each other in heaven? Not just the people we meet and know by name, but also those we don’t know in this life that will be in heaven with us. Will we know those we have communicated with on this message board and be able to say remember the discussions we had and be able to say well I was right about this or I was wrong about that. It would be lovely to meet you.

How much will we know in heaven?
